Luxriot LPR is an automatic License Plate Recognition application that enables you to detect, recognise and register motor vehicle license plates.
Luxriot LPR is ideally suited for vehicle access and traffic control and enforcement applications – it is an add-on for Luxriot VMS Server.
Key Features:
- High performance recognition engine with low error rate
- Multitude of supported IP and analog cameras
- Easy-to-use User Interface for setup, monitoring and data retrieval
- Simultaneous processing of multiple video streams.
License Plate Recognition can reduce unauthorised vehicle access and crime and increase safety.
For example:
- Alert security staff when a potential-threat vehicle gains entry to a secure area
- Prove or disprove attendance by an employee, contractor or service personnel
- Ensure customer parking areas are not used by non-customers
- Assist authorities to investigate crime.
- Tenant security and access control:
- Tenants drive up to entry gate.
- Gate opens based on the pre-programmed license plate in the system’s database.
- All vehicles that enter and exit the premises are logged, recording the date, time and license plate number.
- A photo of the vehicle and driver is also captured.
LPR, or Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) uses a series of image manipulation techniques to detect, normalise and enhance the image of the number plate, and then applies optical character recognition (OCR) to extract the alphanumerics of the license plate.
Successful LPR requires correct choice of location and camera type. For example, an eclipse camera can be used to reduce headlight glare and reflected light from a vehicle for night-time detection. The eclipse camera is able to refract light toward the vehicle to produce a clear image of the number plate. In some situations, a camera with a fast shutter speed is required to capture images from vehicles moving at higher speeds.
LPR also requires advanced Video Management Software, such as Luxriot VMS, to optimise smart system control, management, maintenance and recording.
